What is High Performance Building?

High-performance building refers to construction that goes beyond standard building practices to achieve enhanced energy efficiency, comfort, durability, and sustainability. These buildings typically involve:

  1. Energy Efficiency: Incorporating advanced insulation, energy-efficient windows, and high-performance HVAC systems to reduce energy consumption and lower utility costs.

  2. Indoor Air Quality: Using non-toxic materials, proper ventilation, and air filtration systems to maintain healthy indoor air.

  3. Durability: Utilizing materials and construction techniques that enhance the building's lifespan and reduce maintenance needs.

  4. Water Efficiency: Implementing systems that minimize water usage, such as low-flow fixtures and rainwater harvesting.

  5. Sustainability: Using sustainable and locally-sourced materials to reduce environmental impact and considering the entire lifecycle of the building.

  6. Comfort and Health: Ensuring consistent indoor temperatures, reducing drafts, and maintaining proper humidity levels to enhance occupant comfort and well-being.
